Hi Kiera, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi my name is Kiera Cook.
I am the owner of Successful Hands
Braiding Lounge.
I founded SHBL in 2019.
I started teaching myself how to braid at just 9 years old and here we are 27 years later with my very own salon.
Being a braider and salon owner has brought me so much joy and I hope to continue to gain more knowledge, enhancing the beauty of my clients and giving a luxury experience like no other.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road.
This industry comes with its challenges and even sometimes when I wanted to throw in the towel, I remember that I came to far and I wanted this for too long so given up wasn’t and never will be an option!

Successful Hands Braiding Lounge is a braiding salon with 6 stylist. We all specialize in all types of braid patterns, locs, extensions and more.
What sets us apart is that we are a family!
No competition just women with a love and passion for hair.
I am most proud of our brand new hair growth product line in partnership with Walmart.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
In 10 years, I plan to see myself just how I am now. Enhancing beauty and changing the world one braid at a time!
