Rising Stars: Meet Bjay Lawrence

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bjay Lawrence

Hi Bjay , we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Brittney (Bjay) Lawrence I’m a singer song writer here in Birmingham al I was born in San Diego CA I spent summers and holidays in Baton Rouge Louisiana where my dads family is however I was raised in Birmingham. I’ve been singing since I was 3 years old I’ve been writing songs since I was twelve I’ve always loved to perform and sing always signed up for middle school and high school talent shows, 2018 I put out my first professionally recorded single “Maybe” and I’ve since then released a EP/ album Queen of hearts

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not and I still have ways to go and grow, patience has been a friend to me and the growth that came with where I am today is what I appreciate the most , had I known what I know now I would have went an entirely different direction, I’ve took a lot of losses and wasted money but I’ve also made achievements through out it all and the good out weighs the bad my music is timeless and relatable so I never know who I’ll touch though my music that’s always a win for TeamBjay

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I write music I play the piano a little I’m still taking lessons at this time and I perform when I can, I try to always put on a show I want to memorable when I leave from performing regardless of how big or small the audience may be

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
