Rising Stars: Meet Martina “PRIME” Moore of Alabama

Today we’d like to introduce you to Martina “PRIME” Moore.

Hi Martina “PRIME”, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My first Primetime Link-Up took place at Carowinds on June 20, 2022, to celebrate Juneteenth. At that time, our Facebook group had around 100 people, and I wasn’t sure if anyone would actually show up. To my surprise, about 25 group members joined me at the park! The energy that day was indescribable. Our presence captured the attention of the Carowinds staff, and we were given the exclusive privilege of riding Fury 325 just with our members. That was when I truly envisioned what Melanin Coaster Network could become for the industry and our community. To further enhance the member experience, MCN launched our official MCN Gold Membership, giving members the opportunity to be part of a recognized and growing roller coaster organization. MCN Gold provides exclusive benefits, strengthens our community, and allows members to proudly represent the network wherever their coaster adventures take them.

Since that day at Carowinds, our network has grown tremendously, attracting members from all over America with diverse professions, backgrounds, ethnicities, and levels of theme park experience. We then hosted our first major branded event at Six Flags Magic Mountain in February 2023, marking another significant milestone in our journey.

As our organization continued to grow, we launched our official MCN Gold Membership to give members an even greater sense of belonging and pride in being part of a recognized roller coaster organization. MCN Gold offers exclusive benefits, strengthens our community, and gives members the opportunity to proudly represent the network wherever their coaster adventures take them.
I’m excited to see how our organization will continue to evolve. The MCN Executive Team is dedicated to creating opportunities for people of color in the attractions industry while welcoming individuals of all races and ethnicities who believe in and support our mission. Through continued growth, global outreach, and partnerships with theme parks across the country, I believe Melanin Coaster Network is well on its way to becoming one of the leading roller coaster organizations in the industry.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ll be honest—this journey hasn’t always been easy. There were moments when I wondered if people would truly believe in the vision or if all the hard work would eventually pay off. Behind every event and every success are countless hours spent answering emails, planning events, managing finances, marketing, networking, facing rejection, navigating different member personalities, building our website, and creating the structure and foundation of the organization. These are the things most people never see, but they’re all part of building something that will last.

There were plenty of times when things didn’t go according to plan, but I never allowed those moments to define us. Instead, I chose to learn from every setback and keep moving forward. Every challenge has made me a better leader and has made Melanin Coaster Network a stronger organization.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
As Founder and CEO of Melanin Coaster Network, I’ve had the privilege of growing our organization from a small community into a nationwide network through strategic recruitment, innovative marketing, meaningful community engagement, and strong partnerships with theme parks and industry leaders. I lead the organization’s vision and long-term strategy while overseeing business development, branding, event creation, and the development of an Executive Team whose skills and dedication continue to drive MCN’s success.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
As CEO, I couldn’t be more excited about where the attractions industry is headed. Every year, I see more innovation, new experiences, and opportunities to connect with people who share the same passion for theme parks and roller coasters. I’m especially excited about building stronger relationships with parks and industry leaders, exploring new destinations, and creating even more opportunities for our members to experience the very best the industry has to offer. I truly believe the future is incredibly bright, and I’m honored that Melanin Coaster Network has the opportunity to grow alongside an industry that continues to inspire millions of people around the world.
