Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Greenlee.
Morgan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Morgan Greenlee, and I’m originally from Oregon. I’m a country and rock singer-songwriter whose music is deeply rooted in faith. My sound blends honesty of country, the energy of rock, and the hope found in worship music.
Although I’ve loved singing for as long as I can remember, I spent my early adulthood serving in the U.S. Army and ending my career as a Drill Sergeant, I discovered that one of my greatest passions wasn’t just leading soldiers—it was inspiring people, helping them believe in themselves, and showing them they’re capable of more than they ever imagined.
That same purpose is what drives my music today.
More than anything, I want my songs to connect with people where they are. Whether someone is walking through heartbreak, chasing a dream, wrestling with faith, or simply trying to find hope again, I want them to know they’re not alone. If a song can make someone feel seen, understood, or give them the courage to keep going, then I’ve accomplished what I set out to do.
To me, the people who listen to my music aren’t just fans or numbers on a screen. They’re my people. I genuinely care about every person who chooses to spend a few minutes listening to a song I’ve written, and my hope is that they leave feeling encouraged, understood, and reminded that their story matters.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of my biggest struggles has been figuring out who I was after the military. The Army gave me a strong sense of purpose, and when I got out, I had to rediscover who Morgan was outside of that uniform.
Pursuing music has come with a lot of self-doubt, too. I’ve questioned whether I was good enough and whether I had what it takes, especially without the financial resources or industry connections that can help launch a career.
At the end of the day, though, my biggest battle has been believing that I’m enough. I’m learning that my worth isn’t defined by success—it’s defined by the impact my music has on the people who hear it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I think I bring a unique perspective to country music. I’ve gone from being a soldier, to a Drill Sergeant, to standing on stage as a singer-songwriter. Those experiences have shaped who I am and the stories I tell. I know what it’s like to sacrifice for your family and your country, and I think that gives my music a level of honesty and perspective that’s authentically me.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t really believe in luck—I believe in blessings. I believe the more we surrender our lives and trust God’s plan over our own understanding, the more we’re able to see the blessings He’s placed in front of us. Looking back, even when things didn’t go the way I wanted, I can see God’s hand in every season. What felt like setbacks at the time often became the very things that shaped who I am today.
