Exploring Life & Business with Shamek’o Barren of New Mindz Mentorship Program

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shamek’o Barren.

Hi Shamek’o, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Yes. I attended a vision board workshop in 2017 and it sparked something in me. I had a vision of having my own mentorship program and for the first time after attending this event, I saw that it was possible. I would call the facilitator of the event often and ask questions and she would provide me feedback. A few months later I had a logo, a business plan, and a registered business. New Mindz Mentorship Program was born.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It has not always been a smooth road but it has always been a learning experience. Some of the challenges include just dealing with the ups and downs of business. This includes finding your tribe, pivoting, and building brand awareness.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

What was your favorite childhood memory?
My favorite childhood memory was play driving my granddaddy’s boat. My granddaddy loved to fish and used to keep his boat under a shed. Every time I went to his house , I would go in the backyard and act like I was driving .
