Life & Work with Pastor LaToya Reece of Alabama

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pastor LaToya Reece.

Hi Pastor LaToya, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My story is multifaceted, as a little girl I was written off because I exposed violations done by family. I was then sent to live with someone I thought was my father, only to find that he wasn’t. this individual violated me for 6 years, till finally I ran away to live on the streets. I lived pillow to post, and when possible I lived with friends.
I eventually met my children’s father while living on the streets. I thought to myself, finally my life will be different, until it wasn’t. I was abused for nearly 10 years, until I found the courage to walk away. My tribe and I found solace in Ga, and life began again, until one day I found that I was sick and couldn’t work. within a blink of an eye I was homeless again. I felt the streets weren’t a safe space for my tribe, so they were taken to live with relatives.
When they left I felt that life was suffacating me.. I actually felt that all hope was lost. I walked the streets for 7 years, until I eventually found myself in Birmingham Alabama. I found safety in the Salvation Army for months until I eventually found a place to live. Working as a GM for a local title company provided me the opportunity to start over. I eventually found a church home where I became an Elder in ministry. I worked hard at showing the Lord how grateful I was for His guidance and grace. I met my now husband and life became so much better. After we got married, I retired and started my entrepreneurial journey. I opened The Orchard Revive Ministries, became a Chaplain for JCSO, and a certified Trauma Healing Coach. I then began monthly forums for the Women/Queens in our community, providing a safe space for women to come and speak their freedoms, a safe space for them to get real coaching, prayer and counseling. I began traveling all over the world hosting my forums (Return to Queenology) for free to the ladies of those communities. This forum was orchestrated from my self help book Return to Queenology. Until one day, God elevated me to receive the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024. Fromm there I was awarded the above and beyond award, and the queendom award from Kingdom Global Alliance. I truly thankful for the opportunity to impact lives, towards a more healthier and vital lives.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road, I have overcome homelessness, abuse, rejection, and health struggles. I understand firsthand how it feels to feel an island unto yourself

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am the Pastor of The Orchard Revive Ministries, as well as a trauma healing coach and chaplain

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
No matter what life throws at you, silence the noise in your mind and allow only the Lord to shine through. take each project, each dilemma, each task a day at a time, and believe in the stock God placed on the inside of you, and keep moving forward. Never quit!
