Hi Kenny, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Kenny James, a content creator, social media strategist, and founder of Huntsville Content Creators. With a background in multimedia design and a passion for bringing people together, I started Huntsville Content Creators five years ago to create a space where local creatives could connect, collaborate, and grow.
Since then, we’ve hosted over 80 events, building a community of creators, entrepreneurs, and small business owners. Most recently, we brought our vision for the Influence & Income Summit to life, a three-day experience focused on helping creatives turn their visibility into opportunities and income.
Outside of the community, I’m the face behind That’s Kenny, my personal lifestyle brand, and Reels by Kenny, where I help businesses elevate their online presence through content creation and strategy.
Today, my focus is on evolving Huntsville Content Creators beyond networking events into a community that provides ongoing education, resources, and meaningful opportunities. At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: community creates opportunity, and there’s room for all of us to succeed.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road! One of my biggest challenges has been learning how to balance all the hats I wear as a wife, mother, entrepreneur, and creative. Navigating postpartum depression while continuing to build my businesses and show up for my community taught me the importance of giving myself grace.
I’ve also had to learn that just because I’m capable of doing everything doesn’t mean I should. Building Huntsville Content Creators has challenged me to delegate, establish boundaries, and redefine what success looks like.
Through it all, I’ve learned that growth isn’t always about doing more. Sometimes, it’s about creating space for yourself while building something meaningful for others.

Huntsville Content Creators is a creative community dedicated to connecting, educating, and empowering local creatives, content creators, and entrepreneurs. Over the past five years, we’ve hosted more than 80 events, creating spaces for meaningful connections, collaborations, and professional growth.
What sets us apart is our community-first approach. We’re not just hosting networking events; we’re building relationships and creating opportunities for creatives to thrive. From intimate mixers and educational workshops to our recent Influence & Income Summit, everything we do is designed to help people grow.
What I’m most proud of is the community we’ve cultivated and the genuine relationships that have come from it. As we enter our next chapter, we’re expanding beyond events to offer ongoing resources, education, and accountability. My vision is for Huntsville Content Creators to become a creative social club where community and opportunity meet.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
I believe my most important quality is my ability to bring people together and create spaces where they feel seen, supported, and valued. Community has always been at the heart of everything I do. With Huntsville Content Creators, my goal has never been to simply host events, but to cultivate a safe space where people can show up authentically, build genuine relationships, and grow together. I believe that when you lead with intention and put people before everything else, success naturally follows.
