Life & Work with Teynia Lacy of Alabama

Today we’d like to introduce you to Teynia Lacy.

Teynia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, and my journey into entrepreneurship began with simply exploring the things I loved. In 2019, I launched Looks by Lacy as a fashion boutique, but as I grew and evolved, so did my business. The challenges and pivots along the way taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of building with longevity and legacy in mind.
Today, Looks by Lacy is a brand where fashion and wig vending collide—two passions that allow women to express themselves confidently and authentically. While pursuing a career in respiratory therapy, I’ve never believed I had to limit myself to one path. I hope my journey encourages women who have been told they have to choose between their dreams and their responsibilities. Proudly serving my local community, I believe Looks by Lacy is only beginning its reach and will continue empowering women nationwide

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of my biggest challenges was consistency. As a young woman learning to navigate adulthood on my own, finding the motivation and time to pour into my business wasn’t always easy. But those challenges taught me resilience, and every setback became a lesson that helped shape the business owner I am today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in wigs and fashion through Looks by Lacy. I’m really proud that I’ve been able to grow a loyal clientele through word of mouth while also doing well in school as I prepare to start my respiratory therapy program. I’m known for my brand name and my services through the years that I provided through it. What sets me apart is that I’m just me. I’m honest, genuine, and I lead with integrity. I stay true to who I am in my business and in life, and I think people connect with that.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I always tried new things and explored my interests. Fashion, music, food, and more.
