Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My entrepreneurial journey actually started in college. As part of my senior capstone project for my Business Administration degree with a concentration in Marketing, I created a mock marketing consulting company called Magnetic Transformation. At the time, our slogan was, ‘We create a marketing experience that draws clients to you so you can transform your business.’ Looking back, it was definitely a little wordy, but the vision was there.
When I graduated in 2019, the pandemic completely changed the job market. Like many new graduates, I had limited experience in my field, so instead of waiting for opportunities, I decided to create one. I turned that class project into a real business and began working as an independent contractor.
As I worked with clients, I discovered that while I enjoyed marketing, my greatest strength wasn’t simply promoting businesses—it was identifying operational gaps, improving systems, and helping businesses run more effectively. That realization led me to transition my company from a marketing consultancy into a business consulting firm.
One of my first major clients was a local real estate agent who initially hired me as a personal assistant. As I demonstrated my skills, my role quickly expanded into Operations Manager. I developed onboarding manuals, created training materials, improved workflows, organized meetings, and built systems that helped the business operate more efficiently. That experience confirmed that operations and business strategy were where I truly thrived.
Over time, I expanded my client base to include entrepreneurs across several industries, all while maintaining a full-time job. Working with different businesses strengthened my ability to quickly assess challenges, develop solutions, and build processes that supported long-term growth.
Eventually, God said it was time to evolve my business. I intentionally paused taking on new clients so I could step back, evaluate where I wanted the company to go, and develop a clearer vision for its future. After spending a year planning, crying, grinding, and refining my vision, with the love and support of my Husband and God I rebranded and launched Rise & Reign Business Collective.
Today, Rise & Reign Business Collective serves as a one-stop business support partner. We provide business consulting, operations management, event planning and coordination, social media management, executive assistance, document creation, and other operational services through a collective of talented professionals. Our mission is simple: ‘We Rise & Reign so you can Rest & Relax.’ Our goal is to give business owners the confidence that their operations are in capable hands so they can focus on growing their business.
This journey has taught me how to build systems, solve problems, lead projects, adapt to change, and continuously learn. More than anything, it reinforced that I enjoy helping organizations become more efficient, which is one of the reasons I’m excited about this opportunity. I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but every challenge has helped me grow as a business owner and leader. After graduating in 2019 during the pandemic, I turned my college business project into a real company because opportunities were limited. Along the way, I realized my true passion wasn’t just marketing it was helping businesses improve their operations and build stronger systems. Balancing entrepreneurship while working a full-time job required sacrifice, discipline, and resilience. I also took a year away from my business to pray, plan, and rebrand, which was one of the hardest but most rewarding decisions I’ve made. Looking back, every challenge strengthened my faith, sharpened my skills, and prepared me to build Rise & Reign Business Collective with purpose.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Every role I’ve held has helped shape the business owner I am today. From operations and project management to executive support, event coordination, and customer service, I’ve gained skills in building systems, improving processes, solving problems, and leading teams. Combined with my business degree and experience serving entrepreneurs across multiple industries, I’ve been able to apply that knowledge to help businesses operate more efficiently. Those experiences ultimately led me to create a business where we provide strategic support that allows business owners to focus on growth while we handle the operations.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
There are so many people who deserve credit for my journey. First and foremost, I give all the glory to God because He’s been my source of wisdom, strength, and direction through every season. My parents have been incredible supporters, encouraging me through the moments when I questioned whether I should keep going or give up. My college professor and advisor, Amiee Mellon, played a huge role by helping me develop my business ideas and serving as a trusted sounding board. I’m also incredibly grateful to every client and team member who believed in my vision, trusted me with their businesses, and brought professionalism and excellence to every project. And finally, my husband has been my biggest encourager—he saw the doubt and anxiety that no one else did, yet he never stopped reminding me to keep going and trust that all the hard work would be worth it.
