Conversations with BubbieBeats

Today we’d like to introduce you to BubbieBeats.

Hi BubbieBeats, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was constantly in and out of recording studios because my mom was an artist. Watching sessions, hearing records come together, and being surrounded by music every day is where my passion truly began. I didn’t know it then, but those moments were laying the foundation for everything I’m doing today.

When I was five years old, my mom bought me my first keyboard—a Yamaha MM6. I still have it, and I still use it today. I never took formal piano lessons. Instead, I taught myself by ear, spending hours learning songs and figuring out melodies on my own. Being able to hear something and immediately play it became one of the greatest advantages I’ve had as a producer.

At nine years old, I started making beats on a 2009 MacBook Air using Logic Pro. That’s where everything officially started. I became obsessed with learning music production. I’d spend hours experimenting with sounds, instruments, and arrangements, trying to understand how records were made. I wasn’t focused on making money or impressing anyone—I just genuinely loved creating music.

A few years later, I got my first desktop computer and switched to FL Studio. That’s when I really started developing my own sound. I’d stay up late on school nights making beats, constantly challenging myself to improve. Every project taught me something new, and every beat pushed me closer to becoming the producer I wanted to be.

Playing piano has always shaped the way I create. Instead of drawing notes into a piano roll, I can usually play exactly what I hear in my head. Because of that, I can often build the foundation of a beat in 10 to 15 minutes while staying in the creative moment. For me, producing has always been about translating ideas into music as naturally as possible.

Once I became confident in production, I fell in love with audio engineering. During the COVID-19 pandemic, while I was in seventh grade, my parents bought me a small recording setup. I started recording myself, then my younger brother, then family members. Every session became another opportunity to learn.

One of the biggest turning points in my journey came when I met Li $pida and DreamChaserJay. They gave me the opportunity to work with artists consistently, producing, recording, and mixing real records while also teaching me the business side of the music industry. My early mixes weren’t great—and I can admit that—but I never let that discourage me. I kept showing up, learning from every mistake, and getting better with every session. Repetition became my greatest teacher.

Today, I’m the owner and lead engineer of Signature Sound Studios in Montgomery, Alabama. Every artist who walks through my doors represents another opportunity to create something meaningful. Whether I’m producing a record from scratch, recording vocals, or mixing a song, I approach every project with the same passion I had when I was making beats on that old MacBook Air.

Looking back, it’s incredible to see how far the journey has come—from a five-year-old teaching himself piano to owning a professional recording studio. But I don’t see this as the finish line. I believe I’m just getting started. My goal is to continue growing as a producer, engineer, and entrepreneur while helping artists create music they’ll be proud of for years to come.

At the end of the day, music has never been just something I do—it’s who I am.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey has definitely had its challenges. Building a career in music takes more than just talent—it takes patience, consistency, and the ability to keep pushing even when things don’t happen overnight. I’ve had to learn the business side of the industry, invest in my own equipment, continue improving my craft, and create opportunities for myself as an independent producer and engineer.

There have been moments where things felt uncertain, but those experiences helped shape me into the person and creator I am today. Every setback became a lesson that pushed me to work harder, become more disciplined, and take my craft more seriously.

I’ve learned that success in this industry is about staying committed to the vision even when the road gets difficult. The challenges I’ve faced have only motivated me to keep growing, building my brand, and proving that dedication and consistency can turn a passion into a career.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a music producer, audio engineer, and recording artist focused on creating high-quality music and helping artists bring their ideas to life. I specialize in beat production, recording, vocal mixing, and developing the overall sound and direction of a record.

I’m known for my attention to detail, my ability to create different styles of music, and my commitment to making sure every song reaches its full potential. Whether I’m producing an instrumental, engineering a session, or mixing a record, I approach every project with the same level of passion and dedication.

One thing I’m most proud of is building my own creative space through Signature Sound Studios and creating opportunities for myself and other artists. Being able to turn my passion into a business while continuing to grow as a producer and engineer is something I don’t take for granted.

What sets me apart is my background, my work ethic, and my willingness to constantly learn. I started teaching myself music at a young age, and that same curiosity and dedication still drives me today. I’m not just focused on making songs—I’m focused on creating experiences, building relationships, and helping artists create music they’re proud of.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The quality I feel is most important to my success is my attention to detail and my commitment to quality. I believe the smallest details can make the biggest difference in music, whether it’s the way a sound fits in a mix, the emotion behind a performance, or the overall feeling a record gives the listener.

I’ve always been someone who takes pride in making sure things are done the right way, not just the fastest way. I’m constantly listening, learning, and finding ways to improve my craft because I believe there is always room to grow.

My dedication to delivering quality work has helped me build trust with the artists I collaborate with. I don’t just want to create music that sounds good—I want to create records that feel complete, professional, and memorable.
