Conversations with Christian Youngblood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christian Youngblood.

Christian, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hey there, Christian Youngblood from The Casket Kids here! How are ya’ll today?! Here’s a bit of background on the band.
I originally had the idea to start The Casket Kids way back in high school. Geez that seems like a millennia ago, ha ha! It didn’t come to fruition until about 15 years ago, when my brother and I started the band. We wanted to do something different than what was going on around us… so we did!
We started mixing old school punk and metal together, added dark lyrics and BAM! You got The Casket Kids.
We released our debut album SHI about 5 years ago. Released an acoustic short album called This Machine Kills Humans a couple years later. We’re currently working on the new album Black Miasma, releasing songs as we have time to work on them. We’ve had our songs in films, on compilations, etc. all over the world.
Through many forms, hiatuses, life events, and such we’ve come to The bands current formation: Guza on drums, Johnny Decay on Bass, Paul Tokin On Guitar, And myself Christian Youngblood on Vocals.
Today we are Conquerers of the outer limits, kings of the void, outlaws of the underground, and at the very least The Casket Kids! We travel the land bringing our dark gospel to all that need corrupting! Join the congregation and help us spread the dark gospel! Well hammer hypnotizing hell into your souls with our dark and distorted rock n’ roll!
We’ve come a long way since day one, played many venues, states, cities, etc. now we’re poised to take over the rest of the world! Stay Killer!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There have been many, many struggles. Personal, professional, and everything in between, it’s almost comical how much has tried to stop us from continuing as a band. But as they say nothing worth it is ever easy.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We play rock n’ roll, a weird, darker version of it. We are raw but undeniable, inescapable. We are different because we don’t care, no trends, no need to fit in. Most bands that are anywhere close to our style or “genre” don’t want us in said genre. Oh well, we’ve made our way just fine.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Our industry? I’m assuming you mean what we do as a band. We see ourselves breaking barriers and going further than many other bands from our cesspool of talent. Only the strong survive baby!
As for “the music industry” it’s in the pot. No hope for it. Ha ha.
