Hidden Gems: Meet Brenden Barraza of byLoudHaus

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenden Barraza.

Hi Brenden, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I have been shooting photographs coming up on ten years now, which is kind of astonishing to think about. A decade of creating… what a privilege it’s been to stay with it this long. My photography journey began with an older cousin gifting me a Canon AE-1 (35mm film) camera when I was a teenager and toying around with my family’s point-and-shoot on various occasions. In high school, I completed the four-semester photo program that covered the foundations of cameras and the processes of analogue & digital pre/post production. I then moved to Nashville, TN and got my Bachelor’s in Commercial Photography in 2021 at Nossi College of Art. Post graduation, I’ve been capturing North Alabama’s real estate, food, product and fashion markets with my photo studio, Binx Photography.

Currently, I am collaborating with my business (and life) partner, Remy Neal, on our creative studio near downtown Huntsville, AL. Our business, byLoudHaus, is designed for hosting events rooted in the arts, creating branding packages for other businesses, and operating an art gallery. In combining our skills with other talented artists, we are creating a one-stop-shop for the creative and non-creative worlds of North Alabama so people can unwind, create, and connect.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I’d consider my journey to be a fair balance of struggles and successes. There’s been financial, emotional, and social expectations that have stood in my way but I’ve learned that doing something “wrong” is better than doing nothing at all. There’s a silent death when waiting for the right moment or right opportunity to showcase yourself. I look back on my journey and I’d say that has been my biggest shortcoming; that I’ve held myself back because something isn’t to a certain standard. I wound up doing nothing at all. I feel most proud when I complete a project and receive feedback. Whether the client is myself, business, or gallery, the feeling of connecting through images is what fuels my passion.

While I have my personal struggles in life, at the end of the day I feel loved and supported by my family and community which makes it worth the fight. Any aspiration in life will have it’s complications, but I feel the path I’ve chosen (or fell into) has led me to a spot where I am living my fullest purpose now. I feel ambitious and determined to share the process and results with my community.
