Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Robinson-King, MSW.
Hi Ashley, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I established my nonprofit in 2024 with the vision of creating the supportive environment I wished I had during my own upbringing. My aim is to empower individuals to reach their personal goals while building confidence and offering guidance in various areas of need. This includes academic resources, donations, tutoring, and volunteer support.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Running my own nonprofit has been quite challenging. Relying solely on donations and my personal income has tested my resolve. However, when you believe that God has given you a vision, you refuse to let the small obstacles deter you. Ultimately, these challenges are worthwhile because they contribute to a greater purpose.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a master’s level social worker at a methadone clinic, I find my role as a substance abuse counselor to be incredibly rewarding, despite its challenges. Helping individuals navigate their recovery journeys brings a deep sense of fulfillment.
