Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Taylor.
Hi Alex , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It all started with my fitness journey. In 2023, I moved from my hometown to a new city and got caught up in unhealthy habits. It wasn’t until 2025 when I said enough is enough. I started going to the gym consistently and cooking at home. 9 months later, I was down 50lbs. I began to document my journey on social media in hopes that I could inspire others. Now I create content not only for myself, but other businesses around the Birmingham area as well.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely has its ups and downs. I struggled mentally because I was being vulnerable in a way I’ve never been before, especially with strangers on the internet. I had to overcome that fear of being seen and really learn my content style and what my audience liked/disliked. It’s still a learning process but I enjoy creating so even in the struggle, I can take something from it.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I create cinematic experiences that highlight local businesses for growth on social media platforms. I specialize in content creation, videography, and graphic design. Businesses have reached out to me to create videos to gain more exposure and influence others to take a visit. I believe that is what I’m most proud of. My content style and storytelling skills set me apart from other local creators.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Do not be afraid to direct message/email other people who are in the same field as you. Most of the time, people who are doing better numbers than you want to see you win as well. There’s room for everybody to eat. Reach out. Ask for advice, even if it’s just a 10-minute conversation. Reaching out to mentors and peers has gained me a network far past my expectations.
