Today we’d like to introduce you to Jadah Derice.
Hi Jadah, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Jadah Derice and i’m 25 years old. I’m an upcoming artist from Birmingham, Alabama. I started writing songs at the age of 6, i would randomly make up songs off the top of my head and it kinda just stuck. I wrote songs all throughout high school but I never took things seriously then one day at the age of 18 i decided that i wanted to teach myself how to rap. I would lock myself in my room throughout the years and i would go through different archives of music and it never mattered about the genre cause if it sounded good to me i would listen. In 2019 i moved to Dallas just for a fresh start and i stayed there for about 6 years just working, having fun and of course creating my music. Me being creative allowed me to make some sort of name for myself but nothing too major as of yet.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road but it hasn’t been terrible either. It’s kinda sorta just been “life” you know..some struggles along the way for me included being around people that weren’t necessarily good for me, self doubt, and overall just procrastination
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a rapper. I would say that i’m known for my eccentric music style and my choice and ear for beats and being able to match my lyrics perfectly to bring the song as a whole to life
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
If anything good luck has played a part in my life overall by putting me in the right places at the right moments to meet some of the right people. Being able to get my name into doors that i haven’t necessarily entered yet but when the time comes i know that i’ll be ready
